on provision
a prayer about relying on God's provision
Father in heaven, we come before You first to glorify Your name. You are our Jehovah Jireh our Provider, our Sustainer, the One who watches over us with perfect wisdom and love.
Every blessing, every breath in our lungs, every opportunity has flowed from Your faithful hand. Tonight, we honor You as the Giver of all things.
Forgive us, Lord, because we have forgotten Your generosity— We complain more than we thank you, We have taken our daily bread for granted. We have depended on our own strength instead of Your provision.
As Daniel did, we humble ourselves before your throne of grace and ask you: “who am I Lord, and who are my people, that we could give anything to you? Everything we have has come from you, and we give you only what you first gave us!”
Cleanse us from entitlement. Forgive us when we’ve believed we earned on our own what in reality You placed in our hands.
Forgive us for comparing what we have to what others hold. Forgive us for doubting Your care when circumstances shift quickly.
Father, thank You for the ways You provide— for our income, for our jobs, for stability, for the ability to work.
We recognize how fragile finances can be— how one change, one phone call, one unexpected moment can shake what felt secure.
And yet, through every season, You have carried us. You have covered us. You have sustained us.
You teach us to trust that you are enough.
We lift up those in this room who are struggling financially,— those waiting on provision, those feeling stretched thin, those unsure of how the next bill will be paid.
Remind them tonight that they are not forgotten. Their story is held in Your hands. Help them trust you Lord. Help them to take accountability if they need to. Help them to make wise decisions Lord.
And whatever You have entrusted to us—much or little— we thank You, Lord. Give us hearts that are content, minds that are renewed, and perspectives shaped by gratitude, not fear.
As Your Word says, “godliness with contentment is great gain… for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world” (1 Tim. 6:6–7, ESV).
Teach us to see what we have as a way to serve You joyfully on this earth, not a measurement of our worth or success. Teach us to trust You with all that we have— because all that we have has always been Yours.
Espíritu Santo, abre nuestro corazón a la gratitud.
Gracias, Señor, porque Tú cuidas lo que no podemos controlar, y provees aun cuando no lo vemos.
No merecemos nada señor. Quita todo orgullo y desconfianza. Enséñanos a vivir con un corazón agradecido, a descansar en Tu cuidado, y a reconocer que todo lo que tenemos es un regalo de Tu amor.
En el nombre de Jesús, Amén.
